I do. I was sitting on the couch at my grandfather's watching a soccer match. Portugal was playing.
My
grandfather was very excited for this game because he had just upgraded
to High-Def programming for his brand new, rather large HDTV.
I remember the game starting—"Look at the picture grandson, it's magnificent!" he proclaimed.
"Umm
Papa," I replied, "it looks like hell, this isn't HD! This is the same
picture I've been seeing for years... Give me the remote for a
second..."
What my grandfather didn't know was that sure, he had
purchased the 'HD Package' but that the HD programming
actually had special designated channel. The regular old soccer channel, well, was exactly that.
I made him close his eyes as I changed the game to the HD channel. "Okay... open your eyes Papa..."
You should have seen his face—like a kid on Christmas morning. "I CAN FINALLY SEE THE BALL!" he exclaimed.
From
that moment on, our perception, our standard of what we expected from
television was forever changed. Why would we ever settle for anything
less than HD?!
The
supplement industry has baited customers into paying for
High-Definition results without actually delivering the 'channel.'
"Six-Pack Targeted Technology," "Get Ripped Today"—we've all seen the
headlines, and we've all been left in the dust, holding a foil-covered
antenna, looking for any sign of results.
